Extra Credit Week of Oct 26

Two elevators going down leave the 10th floor at the same time. One elevator is faster than the other. The faster elevator takes 45 sec between floors. The slower elevator takes 1 min between floors. There are people on ever floor waiting to go down. The first elevator that gets to their floor must stop to pick them up. It takes 3 min for either elevator to stop and pick up passengers. Which elevator will reach the first floor first?
Answer: the faster elevator
